A plea for ideas!

As some of you know, I was recently called as the Enrichment Counselor in the Relief Society Presidency. I am realizing what a big job this is (even without the Enrichment part of it). But, I am in need of some fresh ideas for meetings, activities and Super Saturday crafts. I know that a lot of you have probably had great Enrichment nights and I want your thoughts, advice and ideas. Thanks and wish me luck!

Congratulations, (I think!) It is a big job but you are so creative and will let the spirit guide you as to what your sisters need. A few things that we've done in our ward: Monthly lunch at a local restaurant with R.S. sisters (This is to cater to the elderly group that doesn't like to come out at night). Hubby's and children are invited. During the summer weekly mom and me classes (cater to young moms, but everyone is invited to come and participate in the craft). A sister in the ward oversees the activities. Other evening mini classes: project Noah (emergency preparedness), photo class (how to take better pictures, getting to know your digital camera) online scrapbooking, making pop-out photo albums, flower arranging just to name a few. Good Luck. Post what you're doing. We all could use fresh ideas.

My old RS in Loveland goes to the temple every first Friday of the month. They meet at the chapel at 8:30 drive down together, do a session, eat lunch at the cafeteria (so take $$$) and then got back home by 3:30 to pick up kids from school. I really enjoyed the times I could go (when I swapped babysitting with someone else and then she would go the following month). There is something to be said about attending the temple with your sisters!

Our ward has a service auction once a year and everyone LOVES it. If you need details, email me.

We had a fun date night theme. Every couple brought either a homemade pizza or dessert pizza to enrichment. The food was judged and everyone just socialized. It was fun. Oh, and babysitting was providided!!! Good luck in your new calling!

What a perfect calling for you. A Super Saturday sounds so fun, tons women have such fun crafts in their homes from those. I will email your directions to the bracelets...although it's just hot glue and ribbon. You should make those tie bags. I think those are so cute. Our RS doesn't do anything special: book group, recipe group ( the host provides the theme and emails everyone's recipes out), playgroup, temple day, etc. We are having a garage sale at the church (the RS pays for the ad in the paper) everyone sells their stuff in the parking lot. I think it is fabulous, because a lot of us don't have enough stuff to hold an entire yard sale...but everyone always has a few things they want to get rid of. Good Luck. Let us know what you do.
