One of my least favorite chores...

Every Monday and Friday are laundry days around here. I normally do 5 loads of laundry each day. This does not include towels, sheets, blankets or any other "emergency" loads throughout the week. For some reason I don't fold the clothes as they come out of the dryer like my perfect mother. I throw them in a huge pile on my bed and they get folded and put away that night (yes, always the same night - that counts for something, right?) I like to say it is because I rarely sit still long enough to fold them. And Brandon is happy to slowly fold while he watches a basketball game. Anyway, last week once the clothes were all put away I went to put the laundry baskets back where they go, only to find this depressing sight...This was not an out-of-the-ordinary thing. I just happened to take more notice than normal that night. I know a lot of you have no sympathy because you have worse laundry stories than mine and that's okay with me! (Summer - come on, you have more than twice as many children as me!)
By the way - dusting and unloading the dishwasher are my other least favorite chores - how about you? What housework do you dislike doing?

I do 5 loads of laundry 1 day a week. I don't mind laundry, but I am sure as heck not doing it more than once a week! Of course, that doesn't count the sheets I do..so I guess there are a few more loads of that. I make my kids wear their pants more than 1 day at a time, so that helps cut down on the laundry pile a lot! Oh, and Clint typically does his own laundry because he hates the way I do it. Fine with me! I do take it out immediately and most everything gets hung up because I will not iron!

I HATE HATE HATE sweeping and mopping. Ugh...gag me!

You are funny. I think that as long as the laundry gets put away eventually, you are good to go. I know what you mean about not getting it folded right away. Im terrible at that too and it make me crazy for me!

Good one, Cam.

Laundry is actually a job I don't mind too much. I can save up the folding and do it while I'm watching TV which makes me feel less lazy. I do it Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Two load each day--dark and light. Then I throw in towels once a week and sheets every other week, or so. (Is that bad?)

I hate cleaning the bathroom. And I hate dust. I always hope that for once the dust won't come back, but it always does!

And, what? Are you talking about your cousin Summer or friend Summer? 7 kids! Wow!

I hate laundry with a passion. it never ends!!! But even more than laundry I have to say I hate doing dishes. I never seem to get on top of them and the little kids always try to get in the dishwasher while I am loading or unloading- or they try to help and it's a mess. Clearly, I can't always wait until they're napping or sleeping- but I hate doing the kitchen with kids underfoot, as a result my kitchen is probably the messiest room in the house most days.

I would have to say laundry is my very least favorite! Until it gets put away and then I'm excited...in a strange way that all our clothes are clean, at least for the day!

Cami - you're so fuuny. I think everyone can relate to what always seems to be an endless supply of laundry no matter how many loads your doing! At first I loved doing laundry - of I would - but yeah now - there's not a whole lot of thrill to it - except when there's new Gap clothes to wash -- he he

I like to follow the philosophy of Jack Handy: I believe that you should live each day as if it's you last....that's why I have no clean laundry...cuz' hey, who wants to do laundry on their last day alive! LYA : )

Cooking! I would rather do anything else in the house than cook a meal. I will put off cooking with any chore I can possibly find until everyone in our house is in tears from hunger!
I agree with Laura, laundry lets you watch tv and do a chore at the same time. It's not so bad. I'm doing sheets and all today!!!

I don't mind laundry, but cooking is a whole other story! I hate to cook dinner. I don't know if it is because I am waiting for Logan to get home, or because I lost all my steam earlier in the day, I don't know, I just really dislike cooking dinner!

Dusting has to be my least favorite. I hate having to move everything and then put it back again. As a result, I really have cut down on the nick nacks in the past few years. Aside from that, I just have a problem getting motivated. Once I start cleaning, I don't mind it; and I really love the end result.

Well I don't mind folding the laundry I make sure that the permanent press load is the last load so it can be hung up. But the towels, sheet and whites are done first so they can pile up until I am ready to fold and watch TV. Lucky for me I only have 4 loads a week and that is with sheets and towels. The beauty of only one child. :o) As for cooking I am not crazy about cooking after working all day so Jeff helps out with the dinner meal a lot of the time. Then since there is only one child who is older he gets to help do dinner dishes. :)

It is so discouraging to think that you're done, only to find more clothes that need to be washed! At least you get yours put away the same day. Sometimes, my clean laundry sits in the basket waiting to be either folded or put away until the next time I need the basket. Bad, I know ...

Cami you are hilarious! I think you are awesome to find (some) enjoyement in the day to day tasks we endure as Mothers. Obviously a housecleaner would be much appreciated, but as the budge won't allow, we glagly do the 'dirty work' :) Miss you!

Wow, a lot of people can relate to the chore blog. I don't care how many kids you have, it never goes away! But I must confess that I call the laundry room my second home. Whenever anyone comes home and can't find me I just hear them yell "mom you in your other home?". I am on the same page as you...I HATE dusting!!! I'll mop the floor and clean the bathrooms all day as long as I don't have to dust. Oh ya and empty the dishwasher. But I don't do that often, the glory of having 7 kids!!
